SECOND INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF PROJECT PARTNERS IN ZAJECAR WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ERASMUS+ PROJECT
“THE SMART WORLD WINS”

The second meeting of partners within the project was held in Zaječar on 17-18. October 2023. The goal of the meeting was the analysis of project results and evaluation of all completed activities, as well as the preparation of the final report and necessary documentation.

Representatives of all four schools attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, the host director of TŠ Zaječar, Goran Stanković, greeted the attendees and introduced his school and the city to the guests. Olivera Radenković, as the project coordinator, presented all the main activities realized during the duration of the project, analyzing the quality of the implemented activities based on predefined parameters.

Then the school coordinators of all four schools presented the project results and dissemination activities carried out at the local and national level.
Marija Veljković Milojković presented the activities at ETŠ “Mija Stanimirović”, Dejan Nikolić gave a report for the Zaječar Technical School, Miran Kozmus presented all the activities carried out at the School Center Kranj, and Marija Stambolivija informed the attendees about the activities carried out at SUGS “Vlado Tasevski”.

A short film was also shown about all the events in Nis within the competition of students from all four schools, as well as a film from the Final Conference held in Nis.

After the presentation of the project, the delegations visited the school accompanied by the director and the school coordinator. They visited classrooms, offices, practical teaching workshops…. During the tour, the director introduced the attendees to the school’s organization and way of working, as well as national and European projects that the school implements.

The afternoon was devoted to a tour of the cultural and historical sights of Felix Romuliana and the National Museum in Zaječar.

FINAL CONFERENCE OF THE ERASMUS PLUS PROJECT “SMART WORLD WINS”

The final conference of the Erasmus plus project “The smart world wins” was held on May 25, 2023. A total of 40 participants attended the conference. Among the guests present were directors of secondary vocational schools in Niš, Pirot and Zaječar, representatives of higher education institutions, Faculty of Electronics, VTŠ Niš and Metropolitan University, Association of Electrical Engineering Schools, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia-Regional Chamber of Commerce Niš, representatives of the social partners of the companies Cumtobel, Tridonic and DMV .

The conference was opened by the director of ETŠ “Mija Stanimirović” Nis Aleksandar Stevanović. He greeted all the present guests and gave basic information about the Erasmus+ project “Smart World Wins” .

The guests were also greeted by the director of the partner Technical School from Zaječar, Goran Stanković, on behalf of SUGS “Vlado Tasevski” from Skopje, Marija Stambolivija and Miran Kozmus, representative of the School Center Kranj.

After that, project coordinators Olivera Radenković and Marija Veljković Milojković introduced the participants to the Erasmus+ program, the types of projects for which schools can apply and all the Erasmus+ projects that the school implemented in the previous period. All the activities of the SWW project were presented, as well as the results of the students’ competitions and their works.

Ivana Miladinović, teacher of ETŠ “Mija Stanimirović”, presented a handbook with all areas of Arduino application, as well as experiences in using the handbook in teaching and extracurricular activities.

On behalf of the teachers who participated in the creation of the online course, Ivana Bogdanović presented the course, student activities, video materials, forums, question base, and final test on the moodle platform.

Bojan Stanković had the task of acquainting those present with the evaluation results and passing of the tested students, as well as with examples of good practice realized through the organization of workshops for both secondary and elementary school students.

In the second part of the conference, the members of the expert committee had the task of evaluating the students’ projects, their presentations and choosing the best ones in the competition. Danijel Danković, a professor at the Faculty of Electronics in Niš, commented on all the positive results of such a project, the exceptional ideas that the students, with the support of their mentors from all four schools, realized and successfully presented, as well as the great potential of such an idea, which should be continued through the project and cooperation make full use of it. The attendees were addressed by Srđan Jovković, director of VTŠ Niš, Ivana Petrović, director of Metropolitan University, as well as representatives of the school’s social partners, Vladimir Tonić Tridonic, Cumtobel and Saša Stevanović from the company DMV . Everyone presented their observations and shared their experiences in cooperation with the school so far in this and all other projects.
On behalf of the expert committee, Danijel Danković declared the best works of the students at the competition and, together with the president of the Association of Electrical Engineering Schools, Nebojš Sokolović, presented cups, medals, diplomas and special prizes to the students and their mentors.
In the following, the best works of the competition and the best works from each school participating in the competition were presented to those present.

STUDENT EXCHANGE WITHIN THE ERASMUS PLUS PROJECT “SMART WORLD WINS
IN NIS, 23.05.-25.05.2023.

A short exchange of students and a competition of student works was held in Niš from 23.05. until 25.05. This three-day event was attended by all partner schools, from which we had several teams of student works for the competition. Two teams participated from Kranj, i.e. 4 students and two teachers. We had three teams from Macedonia, 6 students, 3 teachers and another teacher who was in charge of entrepreneurship training. From Zaječar, we also had three teams of 6 students and 3 teachers. As for the attendees from our school, ETŠ “Mija Stanimirović”, we had three projects for the competition, 6 students and two mentors, and the project team of our school also attended the event.

The guests arrived at the school on 23.05. around noon and at the beginning we had a mutual introduction and a short presentation about the school and a reminder of the completed project activities that are coming up. The opening speech was given by Aleksandar Stevanović, the director of the school, and Olivera Radenković, the project coordinator, spoke about the project. After that, Vladimir Savić, a history teacher, gave a presentation about the city of Nis. After that, the guests visited our school.

The tour of the school was followed by a presentation on leadership prepared by the school from Skopje. On this occasion, students learned about the best ways to present their projects at tomorrow’s competition. On that occasion, they talked to each other about what is important to emphasize and how the presentation itself should look best.

For the first day of activities, after visiting the school and training for the students, we prepared a tour of the city of Nis for the guests. As one of the most important historical sites is in close proximity to the school, we started with a tour of Mediana. After Mediana, there was a tour of the city center, Niška fortress, Čegar and Cele towers.

Second day 24.05. started at the Regional Center in Nis, where a competition was organized in student projects in the field of Arduino programming. There were a total of 11 projects that were presented to the expert jury, in the order determined by drawing numbers. The expert jury was composed of 4 members:

  • Danijel M. Danković, professor from the Faculty of Electronics in Niš
  • Nikola Mitrović, master engineer in mechatronics, assistant at the Faculty of Electronics
  • Dejan Blagojević, professor from the Technical College of Vocational Studies in Niš
  • Nikola Marinković, representative of the company Cumtobel .

The first international meeting of project partners

48 students attended the practical part of the training at ETŠ “Mija Stanimirović”. The students were informed about the dates of this part of the training through an e-mail sent to them, as well as through a notice posted in the school hall.

During the first day of the training, the students presented the conceptual solutions of their projects to subject teachers, while the second day was reserved for the practical implementation of those solutions.

On the first day, there were a total of 24 teams of two members each. Each team had 10 min. time to present the conceptual solution. The total time for the realization of this part was 4 hours. According to the areas of the manual in the section “The Smart World Wins” Project, the statistics are as follows: the largest number of projects was from the field of marketing, 38% of them, then from the field of security 21%, then from the field of traffic 16%, then from the field of industry 14%, then from the field of entertainment 9% and at least from the field of Internet of things 2%.

On the second day of the workshop, the students had the opportunity to implement their projects in practice. From the beginning of the workshops to the realization of the projects, the teachers were available online for consultation about the projects. The total duration of the second part of the workshop was 4 hours.

All the students who participated in these trainings successfully mastered them and thus gained the right to receive a certificate of completion of the course.
The day after the training, the results of the work were summarized. Based on a two-hour discussion and analysis of all works, a selection of student teams was made for the upcoming competition, which will be held in May at our school.

Project activities held in Kranj

As part of the implementation of the “Smart World Wins” project, from April 19 to 21, a training session was held in Kranje for teachers involved in the implementation of the project. In addition to the teacher of ETŠ “Mija Stanimirović” from Niš, the training was also attended by teachers of the Technical School from Zaječar and SUGS “Vlado Tasevski” from Skopje.
